Drew University has a Hillel. Hillel is a Jewish organization that gives Jewish students the ability to maintain their Jewish self. It sets up functions relating to Jewish customs and traditions. Shabbat dinners, Shabbat services, events with neighboring schools, lectures, and Jewish holiday programs are some of the activities Hillel organizes. Many of the students that participate in this group take classes relating to Judaism. Drew University offers a minor in Jewish Studies, which some of the students in Hillel plan to do. Hebrew is one of the many language courses that Drew has available for students to learn. Many of the students in Hillel are willing to help new students with any courses regarding Jewish studies. Even people that are not Jewish can join this group. Anyone who wants to take a step to learn and have fun with Jewish traditions can participate.-Callie Corro
Why someone might join
paste your rationale here
Hillel allows Jewish students to keep their customs and traditions. It is important for people to be in touch with their religious self. This group also allows students to meet other people that share the same ethnicity. On the other hand, Hillel also gives people that are not Jewish the ability to learn about the Jewish background and to experience diversity by meeting people with different beliefs.-Callie Corro
