Description
Have you ever wanted to travel abroad? Want to go to Europe, Africa, or how about Honduras? Here at Drew you have that opportunity. We have a program at Drew call the Drew Honduras Project (DHP), that gives you the chance to travel to Honduras during the spring. The program consists of a small group of the Drew community; that which include, four executive board members, one faculty advisor and approximately ten student members. The DHP is a completely student run program that travels down to Honduras each year to volunteer both their time and hard work in the orphanages. The group travels to Honduras every year in May (about a week after graduation.) They work in both Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, and La Ceiba, Honduras. They volunteer not only their hard work, but their time as well to help out the children of Honduras. Devoting majority of your time to helping out the orphanages of the country in what ever way possible.
Why someone might join
Going down to Honduras is a life-changing experience, one that you will remember for the rest of your life. It gives you the chance to not only spend time with the other members, but you get a chance to spend time with the children of Honduras. Current members of DHP have told me that it is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have in your entire life. Raching your hand out to the children of Honduras in their time of need will not only help them, but will make you feel great that you've made such a big difference in someone's life. Members told me seeing the smiles on the children's faces was the most rewarding and happy experience of their life, knowing they changed someone's life forever. Have any questions or think you are interested in joining the DHP please contact Lauren Spiechowski at lspiecho@drew.edu.
